Fifth Continent on Film

Fifth Continent on Film

Screen South are pleased to announce our partnership with Fifth Continent to deliver the Fifth Continent on Film programme.

Developed to capture the magic of the Marsh on Film, this project offers people the opportunity to expand their filmmaking skills by becoming involved in producing a range of new short documentaries and creative films. The landscape, heritage and culture of Romney Marsh will be the focus, enabling communities and individuals to celebrate and rediscover the beauty and history of the area they live in.

Screen South will be holding a number of workshops throughout the next three years with the aim of teaching new filmmaking skills and building up a network of local filmmakers as well as being able to provide access to filmmaking equipment. Alongside these workshops and filming experiences, we will also be holding a number of events, including an annual Film Festival, showcasing the range of films created from this project, the rich backlog of archive and features already associated with the Marsh and to celebrate the involvement of all participants and the local community. We are interested in hearing from filmmakers and local people who have stories they would like to tell and who can help reveal hidden stories and new ideas.
