Step behind the scenes of location-based filming with Samantha Williams, location manager and film liaison officer, for this one day workshop.

You’ll discover how to plan, prepare, and problem-solve on location — from scouting and securing permissions to managing shoots on the day. Featuring Kent-based case studies and a hands-on group exercise, this session is perfect for emerging filmmakers and creatives with an interest in location management.

This session is geared towards emerging and early-career filmmakers, who are either looking to embark on a career pathway in locations management or are keen to build confidence and key skills for directing, producing and other production roles.

Samantha began her career with 18 years in PR & Marketing working with broadcast news media and product placement filming from F1 to yacht racing to medieval castles. Over the past 11 years Samantha has worked on over 60 feature films and TV dramas, music promos, TV commercials and documentaries working for location owners, film offices and productions. Specialising in heritage locations Samantha runs training courses on location management and is keen to support new entrants get a step up in managing these challenging locations.
