Screen South is delighted to host Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network – FLAMIN – for an informal evening exploring funding, development and support opportunities for artists working across moving image.

Led by Rose Cupit and her team, the session will introduce FLAMIN’s work and highlight key programmes including FLAMIN Productions, the FLAMIN Fellowship, the Film London Jarman Award, FLAMIN Animations, Selected and artist opportunities. The team will also share examples of recent supported work and offer practical insight into how artists can engage with their programmes.
 
Although FLAMIN sits within Film London, many of its opportunities are not limited to London-based artists. Key programmes support artists living and working across England, while the Jarman Award celebrates moving image artists from across the UK.
 
The session is aimed at artists, filmmakers, animators, game makers, digital and immersive practitioners, producers, curators and anyone developing artist-led screen-based work in Kent and the wider South East.
 
The presentation will be followed by informal networking drinks: a chance to meet the FLAMIN team, connect with other artists and practitioners, and find out more about support for ambitious moving image practice.

The FLAMIN Fellowship, the UK’s only development and bursary scheme dedicated to the next generation of artist filmmakers, offers early-career artist-filmmakers a unique program of mentoring, funding, and support to develop a new moving-image work. The fellowship equips artists with industry knowledge and advice on sustaining a practice through a series of monthly workshops.

FLAMIN Productions aims to support the most exciting, innovative, and challenging moving image projects with development, production finance, and bespoke mentoring opportunities. The scheme is open to mid-career artists based in London who have moving image at the core of their practice.
