Job Opportunity - Curating for Change

Project Development Officer

Screen South seeks to appoint a Project Development Officer for its groundbreaking Accentuate programme to support the development of a new national project: Curating for Change.

Screen South’s Accentuate programme has recently received funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund to develop plans for the full delivery phase of the project. The Project Development Officer will work closely with the Head of the Accentuate Programme to support extensive consultation across the museum sector in order to create a detailed activity plan and round two bid for submission to National Lottery Heritage Fund in March 2021.

The applicant will need to have expertise in partnership development, workplace training or mentoring programmes, working with Museums and with D/deaf and disabled people. Curating for Change aims to bring about a sea change in the way D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse people are represented in our museums: both in the workforce and in collections and displays.

Curating for Change: D/deaf and Disabled People Leading within Museums, will tackle the serious under representation of disabled people working within the museum sector through a curatorial led targeted work placement programme, peer to peer mentoring and sector wide forums.

We welcome applications from D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse people and are happy to discuss support for applications if required.
