With introduction and Q&A with Elizabeth Klinck.
Following our You See it, You Hear it, Let’s Clear it masterclass with Elizabeth Klinck, we are delighted to present one of her projects, a 2022 portrait of the visionary filmmaker Werner Herzog, maker of classic movies Fitzcarraldo (for which he hauled a steamboat over a mountain), Aguirre: Wrath of God, The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser; and documentaries Grizzly Man and Into the Inferno – as well as guest star of The Mandalorian
Documentary filmmaker Thomas von Steinaecker spoke to people who have worked with Herzog over his long career. We hear from Herzog himself, with extraordinary anecdotes about film locations and shoots (including Christian Bale, Nicole Kidman, and more) his admiration for Lotte Eisner, and his eternal search for beauty.
