Kent in WW1 was a Heritage Lottery Fund funded project whose site www.kentww1.com will be live until 2022. The project brought together information about the people, places and events during the First World War in coastal locations around Kent. Each location has a map where images and information have been shared about people and places, enabling people of today to locate information about the First World War in their community. On the resource page there are workbooks and also some family histories shared by members of the public. In each location are listed local groups and societies to enable the visitor to discover more local information.
In addition, the project engaged with over 7,000 school children in workshops and produced a film about the First World War ‘Echoes from the Kent Coast’.
