A searching documentary portrait of contemporary Folkestone and the intersecting stories of six local people, this richly textured documentary moves between coast, town and community to map belonging at the edge of England.
Observational and essayistic by turns, it captures the rhythms, tensions and solidarities that shape everyday life. Exploring migration, identity and place with empathy and urgency, it balances intimate testimony with a wider social canvas.
Rating: Contains strong language and references to racism, homophobia and protest violence.

Meet The Artist

Jessi Gutch (she/they) is an award winning disabled writer/director, who makes films whilst also trying not to die of an incurable ovarian cancer called Sertoli-Leydig. She is interested in reflexive, humorous films that occupy the space between dream and reality; fiction and non-fiction.
Her work touches on themes of grief, mortality, psychogeography, nostalgia, compassion, community and power, always trying to imagine something more radical and unknowing.
