The Audio-Visual Expenditure Credits (AVEC) and the Video Games Expenditure Credits (VGEC) can play a vital role in the financial planning of a production, helping projects unlock valuable finance and maximise available budgets.
In this practical session Anna Mansi, BFI Director of Video Games & Certification, will guide producers and creatives through the essentials of making a successful application across feature film, short film, HETV, animation tv, children’s tv, video games and immersive/VR.
Designed for both emerging and established practitioners, the session will show that AVEC and VGEC is not only relevant to large-scale commercial work: small independent projects can benefit too. Expect a clear introduction to how the process works, what makes a project eligible and how to qualify under the cultural tests or as an official co-production and how to avoid common mistakes. Followed by Q&A and networking drinks.
