JAM on the Marsh
A series of Filmmaking Sessions
What's it all about?
JAM on the Marsh and Screen South are very pleased to invite South East residents to apply to join five days of free Filmmaking Sessions for ages 16 plus on Saturdays from 26th February 2022 until 26th March 2022, based at the Screen South, Digital Hub, The Glassworks, Mill Bay, Folkestone.
This filmmaking element of the JAM on the Marsh annual multi arts festival is to once again be facilitated by Screen South, who will draw on their extensive network, to bring in high end film making professionals to lead sessions on script development, directing, camera, sound design, post-production and editing, open to all ages and levels of experience.
This year the sessions have been enhanced with two practical filmmaking days. One of which will be on location on the Romney Marsh. Attendees will have the opportunity to use professional equipment and be guided by a leading cinematography expert to shoot film whilst honing their skills. The final Saturday will be a hands-on editing day with an expert to give professional guidance whilst attendees edit their own footage, shot the previous week.
Attending the Filmmaking Sessions will give attendees the opportunity to improve their skills, enabling them to enter the Short Film Competition element of the JAM on the Marsh Festival. The Short Film Competition will culminate with a screening and Industry event in partnership with CineMarsh during JAM on the Marsh in July 2022.
