Application deadline: Monday, 20th February 2023
Screen South is inviting applications to the Hi3 Story Lab, a free project-specific development lab for creators with strong immersive media ideas looking for advice and support to accelerate their narrative and technical development. Over two in-person sessions and online mentoring sessions, creators will be offered individualised support to improve their projects, helping them advance to the next stage of development (e.g. pitching for further funding; prototype creation etc.).
The lab programme will be led by XR and theatre director Sacha Wares, and further speakers and mentors will be tailored to the specific needs of project representatives. The first day of the lab will be dedicated to storytelling and narrative development, with further sessions dedicated to the individual needs of attendees, building in as much one to one development time as possible.

This lab is open to immersive creators working digitally across any art form, including film, theatre, games, dance, visual art, audio, and performance. Attendees will have the opportunity to practically develop their projects between sessions by using the space and kit available at Screen South’s Hi3 space in the Glassworks, Folkestone.
Project representatives must be available to attend both in person sessions, to attend online mentoring sessions at mutually agreed times, and to be planning to develop their projects independently over the next 3-6 months, with the help of the kit and space available as part of the Hi3 Network at Screen South. To this end, applicants should have done enough work on their projects already to be able to hit the ground running, and be able to provide a confident treatment and schedule of work on the project, a statement of need outlining what project support is needed, plus (if available) a work sample for the project.
