Are you a disabled person or someone with a long-term health condition? Perhaps you’re still concerned about going into public spaces with the ongoing risk of Covid 19 or you find getting into public spaces difficult anyway due to your impairment. Do you also love visiting art galleries or taking part in creative activities?
in Partnership with Accentute D4D, Hastings Contemporary, during the Covid 19 lockdowns pioneered using telepresence robot technology to provide gallery tours for audiences to visit the gallery remotely, from the safety of their own homes.
Now, in partnership with the Accentuate Programme, we want to take these tours one step further and reach out to those who continue to find it difficult to visit the gallery physically and provide creative activities as well as tours.
Hastings Contemporary will facilitate 8 sessions for disabled people, or those with long term health conditions, to come together via the robot, to take part in a gallery tour followed by artist led creative sessions. You just need access to a laptop or mobile phone with internet connection and we will explain the rest!
The sessions will take place on the following dates: Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th May, Tuesday 10th & Wednesday 11th May, Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18th May, Tuesday 24th & Wednesday 25th May.
For more information or to book a tour, please email: visits@hastingscontemporary.org or telephone the gallery on 01424 728 377. You can sign up for multiple sessions as each session will have a different creative activity. Please also let us know if you might have any access requirements to be able to fully participate in the online tour and activity.
